Rainie Zenith is a writer of fiction and a musical artist, based in Melbourne, Australia.

WRITING BIO

With a penchant for pieces that fall broadly within the gothic fantasy realm, Rainie Zenith's short fiction has been published in numerous literary journals and anthologies. 

Her work has won the Monash Short Story Competition and the Fountain Essay Contest, as well as being shortlisted in the Wyndham Writing Awards.

Rainie acted as a guest judge for Iron Faerie Publishing's Betwixt Writing Competition, which revolved around a mythical creatures theme.

Her own stories often feature the esoteric and supernatural, and she enjoys blurring the boundaries between reality and perception. 

Recent works of short fiction include A Spark of Envy, which appears in Tale Publishing's SPARK anthology, and Spiritual Awakening, which can be found in Undertaker Books' Winter Horrorland anthology.

She has several novels under construction.

MUSIC BIO

With songs that flirt with everything from rock to jazz to dance, Rainie Zenith’s sound is consistently praised for its diversity.

2024 saw the release of her debut album Polychrome Renegade and an accompanying launch tour playing shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Wollongong.

She performed as part of the 2024 line up at Melbourne's premier live music and networking event eXposure. She has headlined in Melbourne at the Workers Club and at the Celebrate Mooroolbark Festival.

She has also performed at the Hills Ukulele Festival and Melbourne Ukulele Festival on her signature electro-uke. 

Rainie Zenith’s 2022 out-of-the-box debut single Reasons To Hate Me struck a chord with the neurodivergent community and charted in Southern FM’s Big Aussie Breakfast Top 45 of the Year. 

Follow up track Pushing Thirty lodged in Canadian KB Radio’s Indie Top 40 for more than 10 weeks, where it peaked at number two.

2023 release Piss-Soaked Ecstasy charted at number 18 on the publicly voted Wettest 100 countdown. The Wettest 100 is an alternative fan-voted countdown celebrating left-field Australian music.
